The Beckers that were in NY prior to the 1700s were mostly Dutch. In schoharie co this can become confusing because there are two contemporary johannes beckers who are the heads of two different families, one dutch and one german. The Johannes Becker line who was Dutch goes back to the 1600s in Albany, NY
