I am also looking for Beckers from Germany about that time frame. My Great Grandfather was Otto Carl Becker. This is a family history I found in some notes:

Nov 26,1978 interview with Evelyn Becker Ingram-dau of Otto Karl Becker.
Otto Karl came to America at the age of 18. He told his children that he was shanghaied onto a whaling vessel when he arrived and that he 'sailed the seven seas for seven years" before he got back to America.
The family story says that while Otto Karl Becker was a boy, his mother married a Mr Schwope. When his mother died, Otto Karl returned to Germany to attend her funeral, and that he was not allowed to attend by the current German family because his clothing was too shabby, and the family was ashamed of his appearance. He broke contact with the German relations at that time and never returned again. She thinks that her grand fathers
name was Possibly Theodore and that his first son may have been a Theodore JR, then a 2nd son and then Otto Karl Becker, born 25 Feb 1865 End of Interview
If this is a fact ,it would seem that Otto Karls father died prior to 1883 when he arrived in America, and that his mother died after 1891 if he had sailed for 7 years and then arrived back in America..
