John Beckelhymer, Va,Oh, In,Mo,Io,Or
John Abraham Beckelhymer (1797 Va-1880 Or), son of Joseph Betchelheimer and Cristina Lazena, married in 1819, Clermont Co Ohio, to Margaret "Peggy" Short (1802 Ky-1866 In), and moved into Indiana in the early 1830's. They settled first in Delaware/Henry Co area, but soon moved to Clay Co Indiana, where about half of their family would live out their lives, either here, or in next door Vigo Co.
Many of their Short kin, as well as Beckelhymer kin, would live in these two counties also. Some of John and Peggys family would go on to Missouri and Iowa to settle and live, and one all the way to Oregon. Their daughter, Mary Beckelhymer, would be the second wife of the widower, Achor Harrison Boor, of Clay County, and though they would eventually leave in Clay Co Achors "first" family, they would move on themselves to Camden County Mo in 1869, with his "second" one.
Achors 20th child, and last one, was Charles Grant Boor, my grandfather.
Take care.Regards,Dick
