Shirley, I do not recall if I ever replied to you. I do have some info on Mariam. She was the sister of my great great grandfathern Orren Alston Beck. She later remarried the sherriff of Grimes County TX and is buried in a family plot in a pasture just outside of town. The UDC put up a marker for her. I visited the grave a few years ago.
What do you need. You are welcome to anything I have.
A couple of months ago a descendant of Emma Sansom die the program at our SCV meeting. She was the one who led Forrest to a place to cross the river outside Gadsen, AL which enabled him to cut off the yankees.
