that there is no such place as a "Wurtemberg". Like the U.S., Germany, too, has always been made up of STATES, and you're actually referring to the southwestern German state of WÜRTTEMBERG, or if written without the "Umlaut" (two dots) over the "U", WUERTTEMBERG, its capital the city of STUTTGART. When talking about Württemberg (Wuerttemberg), you're talking about a state covering an area about the same as that covered by the U.S. states of Connecticut and Rhode Island
