According to the Irish Landed Gentry by O'Hart ( and this is second hand as I've been unable to get a copy of this book),
Fane Beecher was one of the English and Scotch Planters in Ireland in the Reigns of Queen Elizabeth and James I.
Again, second hand:The first Beechers came to Ireland during the Munster andCromwellian Plantations.A Fane Beecher received an estate in west Cork c. 1580, but was driven out by a rebellion. He sold his estate to the Earl of Cork.Later, a William Beecher received estates.
Aparently Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland has more about Fane.Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get a copy of that either.
I guess it's time for a trip to the Emerald Isle.
Good luck.
