Origin of Bechard?

Hello everyone,

Greetings to all for this new year!

I'm looking for some information about the "bechard" name and my family genealogy.

According to my grandfather Lucien Bechard, "Bechard" came from Italy with the "Bechardo". A sister of him says that the origin is German. An uncle said that it is coming from France. :-)

Here's my family information....

Lucien Bechard, born in Alma, Lac St-Jean, Quebec, Canada (1927-) married to Yolande Boudreault
Son of Rene Bechard, born in Les Mechins, Quebec, Canada (1896?-1978) married to Blanche Ouellet
Son of Thomas Bechard (unknown) married to Valerie Croussette

If anyone could give me some details about the origin of my Bechard family and the Bechard name, I would really appreciate it.

Best regards,
Nathalie Bergeron
