Halley....The name was Bibau, and they were from Thielt, Belgium, back in the 16th century. Fled to Netherlands because they were protestant, thence to New Amsterdam.
You must be descended from John Bebout, brother of my Peter. Both sons of John and Mary (Miller) Bebout Your John married Mary Thurman and his whole branch moved to Washington County, Pa. Lots more on Bill Miles' site
