George Robert "Bud" Beavers
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - George Robert "Bud" Beavers, 69, of Colorado Springs, formerly of Jacksonville and Corpus Christi, Texas, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at his home.
He was born June 1, 1937, in Jacksonville, the son of Harry L. and Blanche Ratliff Beavers. He married Cheryl Ann Dolezal Kuhns in 1990 in Franklin, Ark. A daughter, Diane, preceded him in death.
Mr. Beavers was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was stationed in southern Texas for four years. He retired from Asarco Co., and then started his own trucking service that was leased through Whitey Patton/Lone Star. He also had worked for Cendant Car Rental in Colorado Springs.
Survivors: wife, Cheryl; two sons, Robert Dwayne Beavers of Livingston, Texas, and Donald Kevin (wife, Lisa) Beavers of Sinton, Texas; two stepsons, Jeff (wife, Debra) Woodin of Port Lavaca, Texas, and Rick (wife, Kathleen) Woodin of Victoria, Texas; stepdaughter, Brenda (husband, Ralph) McKamie of Colorado Springs; three grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; stepmother, Shirley J. Beavers of Mason City; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial: Memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville.
