I believe this William Beavers was the Son of Alsey Beavers and Nancy West. According to the 1850 Cass Co. Ga. census he was 19 in 1850 making his birth around 1831. Gathering info. from the rootsweb site says he married Martha E. Beavers b.1834. William's brothers were Lloyd, and Silas M. There seems to me to be some confusion concerning dates etc. One person has a list of children from William and Martha but the dates don't add up. Sorry but thats about all I have, maybe you should check out the rootsweb site if you haven't already. If you find out anything please let me know. I wonder if he saw duty in the Civil War? Quite interesting that some of the Godwin family served the Union. Frances's son James A.J. Godwin had two boys who served with the 1st Alabama Calvary.Co. K Henry K. Godwin died from his arm shot and brother Samuel was a P0W in a Confederate prison. This info. was found on the Godwin genforum site. I also verified their service through a Civil War site.
