Thanks for posting this URL; I had overlooked it in an email from a Texas Internet cousin. Your GenForum post alerted me to the potential value to searching for a number of different family lines, including: BEEVER, SHIRLEY, REAUME, MEAD, MURLIN, OWEN, WHITE and STOKES in the states of OH, IN, IL, MO,and MI. I have sent off for several land patents.
The names/dates/county/state info on these patents can be valuable in locating our ancestors at various points in time--and thus enable us to pinpoint census searches more accurately.

It is now $1.50 for the first copy of each patent number and 50 cents extra for each additional copy of the same patent number.It will increase to $2.00 for the first copy after May 1, so do your searches and order copies during April if you can.
