Benjamin Dorsey Beavin, b. abt 1811, Charles Co. Md d. 21 July 1861 in Jefferson County, MS. He was son of Charles and Louisa Cusick Beavin. The Donnelly book says that he died w/o marrying anyone, not so. He married Kate W. Fletcher in Jefferson County, MS at Christ Episcopal Church on 11 Nov 1852. She died 12 Jul 1856. The had three children: Katherine Amanda Beavin (Maria Louisa Beavin and Benjamin Dorsey Beavin, Jr.d. in infancy. Second wife was Adeline Curtiss b. Mar 1836 in Massachusetts. They had two daughters: Susannah Rebecca b.17 Jul 1861 and Mary Benjamin Dorsey Beavins b. Aug 1862. He owned a plantation called "The Plains" in the Maryland Settlement valued at closed to $100000 in 1860. Apparently he came to the area with two cousins: James Edward Beavin d. May 23, 1852 and Richard Benedict d. Nov. 18, 1847 These two ad well as Benjamin Dorsey are buried at Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery in Jefferson County, MS.
