The source of th e following information is from Sister Donnelly's book on "Beaven, Blanford, Clarkson & Mitchells of Md & Ky:
James Walter Beaven born ca 1795 in Montgomery Cop., Md married on 17 April, 1819 to Nancy Ann Beaven born in 1802 dau of Nicholas Beaven and Catherine Mattingly. In 1860 census of this family there was also listed: Mary Beaven 33, Susan Beaven 7, & SYLVESTER BEAVEN age 4 living with them at Breckinrisge Co., Ky.
Nothing else listed about Sylvester Beaven. Odds are that his parents died and he was taken in and raised by family members.
