Aloha Sue,
The way to proceed is one marriage at a time. Usually if you can find the church or civil (city/county/state) record of a marriage you can find the names of the parents of the bride and groom. This gives you a start on the preceding marriage.

You should work on finding the date and place your grandparents married. ThisThen get the record of te marriage to find pepere's parents names.
