My father and I have been carrying out some research and believe that a Beauchamp had a son who took the name Langton, and that he was our ancestor. This occured very early in England.
My father and I have had our dna tested, and we are of the very rare J2a4d haplogroup.
We have already found one Beauchamp in France who appeares to share the same rare haplogroup - though he needs a more complete test to be sure.
Have any of you already had your DNA tested, and come from the J haplogroup?
I am hoping someone will take a test and be a match which would tell us alot about our shared heritage. I know that some Beauchamps are actually not - i.e. a male in England married a Beauchamp girl and adopted the surname in order to inherit the estate - but any of you are potentially genuine Beauchamps, and certainly if you are a french Beauchamp!
So we would love to see your DNA.
