Thanks, Marilyn! I did make the trip, and it turned out the house was not built by Edmund but by a descendant, if my source was correct, in about 1730. It was supposed to have been on the Historical Registry. I got into the general area, found the correct road, and, armed with an old photograph, went searching but found nothing. I am sure I was in the right area. I stopped at a gas station and found one fellow who said he knew the house but that it had been torn down in the last ten years. Oh, well. At least I found the land!
