Geoffrey:

I've been researching the Beauchamps for about 30 years and am not aware of a house that might have belonged to Edmund in Somerset County. I think I'd know about it since it would have to be a very old house, surely full of historic markers! But I do know that his plantation, Contention, was located at the head of the Great Annemessex River, so if you haven't already made your trip, you should be able to find the general area at least, get a sense of the view from his stoop. I have this source for the Contention deed -- Somerset Co Liber O 1, p. 117. If you get a copy of the deed, it might pin the location down more. Good luck! Please let us know if you find anything interesting.
