Hi,
Almost certainly not.Unless the common ancestor existed before 1066.I've heard it said that Hugh de Bello Campo (de Beauchamp) who came to England in 1066 was a minor member of powerful Norman family of nobility. But that family wasn't Beauchamp. The line that went to France had already changed there name to St. Amand.I would say the French Beauchamp and the English Beauchamp have different origins.
I hate to sound like a broken record but this could be shown by DNA analysis. But it would be a very expensive way to prove something we're pretty sure of already.I'd say to do it right would require 3 males of each side and requiring 6 tests. At about $150-$200 each that would be around $1000.Hopefully prices will fall and some people will do it on their own and the data can be gathered from them.
