John gave a brief pedigree to the heralds, this is included in the Stith Thompson article. The arm had a red crescent on them denoting John as a second son. Coat of Arms can pass from first son to first son but I am certain a knighthood would not pass down.
That aside there is absolutely no evidence in the records of Thomas being Sir Thomas. This is nothing more than a figment of some ones imagination years ago, just like Roger being his ancestor is/was. There are those now that are trying to attach our Beauchamp line to the Beauchamps of Hatch and other so called royal lines. Thomas Beauchamp was born ca 1550 in Cosgrove, Northampton, England as was his father John and his father Thomas. The senior Thomas, his brother John and a Richard Beauchamp were on the 1524 tax roll of Cosgrove. Richard was in all probality their father but there is no proof of that. Being on the tax list means Thomas and his brother were of age, putting their births in the early 1500's. Anything before that is simply conjecture.
