Hi, I was reading your postings and thought you could help me with a question. According to a published source, an ancestor of mine visited Chicago in 1831 and stayed "at the best and only hotel in the place where the proprietor was a Frenchman who had married a squaw."

I was thinking the hotel would be the Sauganash Hotel owned by Mark Beaubien. What I don't know is if Mark was married to a Native American woman. Anyone have any biographical information on Mark?? Thanks!
