In Reply to: Beatty Family from Ireland by Jerry Beatty of 1799

I am decended from James Beatty (Sergeant of Police) who was born in 1796 in Shanish, Co. Fermanagh, Ireland. His parents were George and Mary. He married Elizabeth (Bridget) Carrick who was born in 1807 and was the daughter of Daniel and Mary Carrick. James Beatty and Bridget Carrick emigrated to Australia on the "Lady Elgin" in 1854. Their children were:-
George born 1828, who emigrated to Australia before the rest of the family with his wife Elizabeth, arriving on 24th June, 1854.
Jane born 1832
Daniel (my g.g/father) born 1834, emigrated to Australia on the "Lady Elgin", arriving 4th Aug. 1854 He joined NSW Police in Sep.1854
James born 1835 also joined the NSW Police
Mary born 1838
Ellen born 1841
Rebecca born 1844
Sarah 1847
I have no idea if this relates to your Beattys from Fermanagh, Ireland but would be interested to hear from you if it has possibilities. Joan Craymer
