I'm a decendent of John Allen & Jane Beatty who came over from Ireland on the "Hopewell" in 1770/1771. They arrived on the same ship as Joseph Beatty, and settled on the Irish Tract along Lambert's Creek in Queensboro, St. Phillip's Parish, Ga. John & Jane (Beatty) Allen had a daughter named Elizabeth who married John Martin, Jr, of whom I am also decendent. All three families (John Allen, Joseph Beatty, & John Martin) had adjoining properties. If you have any information that you can share on these families, I would be grateful. Enclosed below is some of the information that I have on the Beatty's. Thanks, Jim 1. Jane1 Beatty was born Abt. 1737 in Ireland, and died in Georgia. She married John Allen in Ireland. He was born Abt. 1733 in Ireland, and died Aft. October 24, 1801 in Jefferson County, Georgia. Notes for Jane Beatty: Mitchel and Thomas Beatty are listed along with John Allen and John Martin as having received grants in modern day Jefferson County prior to the Revolution in the township of Queensboro. Bethany Presbyterian Church was established by Scotch-Irish who had come directly from Ireland. The first meeting house was 3 miles from Louisville, west of Lambert's Big Creek. the first minister was Thomas Beattie.
