I am a Dickson (want to pass a little family legacy on to my daughter)
Tracking the female line from my mother a Rushton to her mother a Jobb to her mother a Grue to her mother a Gamble to her mother a Mattie (Martha) Beattie from Ireland) as follows;
Mattie (Martha) Beattie married Robert Gamble (northern Ireland I believe) and emigrated to Bass River Nova Scotia in 1819.
How can I trace who Mattie's father was in Northern Ireland (could be a Dumfries? County connection) - i.d. of Mattie's mother would be great as well?
