Joanna 'Jane' Beatty (born August 1820 in Indiana) married my gr-gr-gr-uncle, Benjamin Lance (born December 1820 Gibson Co. Indiana) on 16 October 1839 in Pike Co., Indiana. She was the daugther of James Beatty (born December 1792 NJ) and Mary Margaret Slater. Joanna had at least 10 siblings....including; Jane Beatty (born 1824, married Thomas McClary), John M. Beatty (born June 1826, married Jane Rainey), Thomas Hardy Beatty (born March 1831, married Nancy Steel Bell), Mary Beatty (born 1832, married Dudley Montgomery), Alexander Beatty (born May 1833, married Sarah E. Humphry), Elizabeth Beatty (born January 1836, married Matthew Parker), Margrette Beatty (born 1837, married Brazil B. Dyer), Barbara Beatty (born December 1838, married Joseph V. Coleman), James Beatty Jr. (born 1843), and Huldy Beatty (born 1844).
