I may have some information for you. My grandmother's sister was Lala Virginia Howard Beatty. Her husband was Otha Lock Beatty (3-12-1891)(1-15-1868). They are buried in Rehobeth Methodist Church Cemetary in Terrell, NC. Two of her daughters have done extensive research for a book called "Through the Years with Jane and John Robinson" This book is available from the Catawba County Historical Assn. P.O. Box 73 Newton, NC 28658. Perhaps the historical Assn. could help further as what is now Catawba County used to be Lincoln county...I think!
I grew up in Lincolnton and get back there quite often. I will ask my mother and my aunt if they have any further recollection of John Beatty...Your best bet would be to search in Catawba county records.

Good LUCK!!!!!!!!
