Annie- Thank you for a most interesting response to my earlier posting. Since I entered that information, I have learned a little more, thanks to a distant cousin, Helen Hamilton. Alexander's father was Thomas Hamilton, who moved from Killens to Bracky, probably after his first wife died. He was christened in Cappagh Parish in 1777. He died on 21 Feb. 1862 and was buried in Drumnakilly Graveyard, Cappagh Parish, where a gravestone was erected to him by James, his youngest son (child of the second wife).
In 1855, Thomas deeded to James a farm in Brackey, as a wedding gift; James married Sarah Ann Little.
