I am very interested in two very early Bibb Co., Alabama, marriages: 1) Matthew GOSS & Patsey BETTY in 1823, and 2) William BETTY & Mary GOSS in 1825. I have collected a lot of information pertaining to several associated families found in Bibb and Tuscaloosa Counties from 1823 and prior to 1840. These families share strong connections and several moved on further westward to middle-Mississippi and points beyond. I have great interest in the subject BETTY family and the referenced marriages and would much appreciate any information that family members may be able to provide. This BETTY family may have sometimes spelled their family name as BEATY or BEATTY. As a possible example, I believe that there may be a family connection to a marriage in Dawson Co., Georgia, between Christopher Columbus BEATY and Mary Ann GOSS. I believe these may be descendants of Col. Thomas BEATY of Mecklenburg Co., NC, and later of Gwinnett Co., GA. Does any of this ring any bells with anyone? Sincerely, Walter Goss
