I've posted this in response to a message from 2000 regarding this same family, but am posting it here as well:
Isaac BEATY and Catherine LONG were the parents of of Elizabeth (Lizzie) who married James Thomas (Tom) CARTER, and they were the parents of Thomas Isaac CARTER, my grandfather. In c. 1895, when my grandfather was very young, Lizzie died at age 25.
Because Tom Carter remarried, contact - even information - about the Beaty family was lost, and I've only recently begun to sort it out. If anyone has more information on the previous history of this family or other members of these generations, I'd be grateful.
Samuel and Susannah, Isaac and presumably Catherine (no name on the marker, but next to Isaac) are buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Tippah Co., MS. Also in that cemetery are O.C. BEATY and David H. and Mary BEATY.
