Hi Tom,
Nice to meet some more Beattie's in the US, one of my father's cousins emigrated in the 1960s.
As for your Patrick, unfortunately I have no brothers (so far) with the name Patrick.
There is no indication (census info) that my direct male BEATTIEs have connections to Ireland. But, as William (b.1815?) was married to a Jane(t) KELLY from Ireland - there is a reasonable chance that going one more generation back may take me to Ireland. I haven't traced any lines not directly associated with my family, but if I come across a Patrick I will keep you in mind.
