I understand that Charles Beattie (my great-grandfather) was also a dock board labourer in Birkenhead and was born in Kirkendbright Scotland in 1847 or 1949. He may have been a mariner but settled in Borkenhead when he met my great-grandmother Mary who as you say was born in Liverpool. Any further help you can give to figure out Charles's background would be most appreciated. Notify Administrator about this message?
