I am just starting my research into my ancestry and looking for all the help I can get.

My father was Edward Beattie, Dec 28, 1910 - June 1998 born Birkenhead, Cheshire, UK

My grandfather was John Beattie, born approx 1885 and died approx 1957 and I believe also lived in Birkenhead all his life.

I am trying to find details on my great-grandfather. All I know is he lived in the south of Scotland, had red hair and a beard!!

Not much to go on but I know some of you are experts!! Hoping you can help fill in the blanks!!
