Sounds to me like a confusion as to what constitutes Glasgow. Parts of Glasgow adjoin Stirlingshire, so your family may recall being from near Glasgow but in Stirlingshire, whereas Brenda identified Glasgow, Lanarkshire Catherine Beatties. It might be better to do a Stirlingshire search. Glasgow is designated in Lanarkshire but overlaps into Renfrewshire, Dumbartonshire and Stirlingshire around the edges.
