Sarah Batie Will Washington County, NY Will Book E February 5, 1851 The last Will & Testament of Sarah Bate of the Town of Hebron County of Washington and State of New York. I Sarah Batie considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory blessed be almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following that is to say…. First…I give and bequeath to my daughter James Armstrong one feather bed which is now in her possession. Item…I give and bequeath to my two daughters Sarah Batie and Hannah Batie all the remainder of my beds together with that part of my bed clothing now in the possession of George Arnot also six linen table cloths now in the possession of John W. Batie also all my tables and chairs the above named articles to be equally divided between Sarah and Hannah Batie. Item…I give and bequeath to my daughters Hannah Batie one red and blue coverlid… Item…I give and bequeath to my daughters Grizzy Nelson, Sarah Batie, Mari Arnot, Jane Armstrong and Hannah Batie all the remains of my household furniture one brass table, one bureau, one new chest and other articles not named, together with my wearing apparel to be equally divided between said daughters…. Item… I give and bequeath to Grizzy Nelson five dollars, John W. Batie five dollars, James Batie five dollars, Thomas Batie five dollars, Sarah Batie five dollars, Alexander Batie five dollars, Jane Armstrong five dollars, Mari Arnot five dollars, and to Hannah Batie five dollars. Item… I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Batie all the remainder of my estate after the payment of all my just debts and all necessary expenses. I hereby appoint my son Alexander Batie sole executor of this my last Will & Testament hereby revoking all former wills made by me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the fifth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one.
