Ancestors of Malcolm Beaton, Isle of Mull born late 1700's

I'm searching for information about my ancestor, Malcolm Beaton. Here is what I know:

He was born sometime between 1765 and 1799, died abt. 1867. He married Marion MacDonald abt. 1811. They had 6 children, John (1815 - 1884), Archibald, Donald, John, Allan, & Lachlan (1831 - 1887). I know that Malcolm was a farmer on Aintuim Farm, near Dervaig, Isle of Mull, Scotland.

I'm assuming that his ancestors were the Beaton physicians, but can't make the connection. I can't find any record of his parents. If anyone has information further back, please let me know. Thanks!
