Hi Darla.... my grandfather was Barney Ballard Beasley, son of Gabriel Dillard Beasley and Maggie Cantrell. He had two other brothers, Ira and Harry .. all three were born in the 1890's in the eastern Oklahoma Choctaw Nation Indian Territory. Great Grandfather, Gabriel Dillard evidently died around 1899/1900 .. the 1900 Scott County, Ark. census shows Maggie Beasley as a widow living with her parents, John & Orpha Cantrell. My grandfather, Barney, married Minnie Grubbs and had one child, Gabriel Dillard (my father) before they divorced. Barney moved to California to seek his fame and fortune in the movie industry. He did have family there... a nephew, W.D. Beasley, was listed on his death certificate, and I think Harry may have lived there too..... not sure. Barney died in 1951 and is buried at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego. Let me know if you think this is your line also.
