Well...to each his or her own opinion. All I know is according to the research my grandmother did before she passed is that Josiah Bearss had a wife by the name of Zerviah Newcomb but they had no children and they were seperated. I am not sure if they were ever married but he had nine children with Mary Sissel, five girls; Anna, Eunice (died at the age of four), Eunice, Martha, and Mary, and four sons; Josiah, Jonathan, Lois, and Thomas. After Mary died he reconciled with Zerviah. It is their son Josiah that married Rebecca Baldwin in June 1747.
