I'm trying to surprise an elderly friend for her birthday with some history on her Bearss ancestors (she and her decendents know almost nothing, so it will be a surprise). So far I have tracked them descending from a Sylvester Bearss. He's clearly connected to the Bearss/Bearse families of New York through his parents, whoever they might be: born: about 1838, Canada died: after 1920 (in California 1920 census) parents (unknown): both born in New York (various censuses) married: abt. 1862 wife: Sarah A. (b. abt. 1839), born New York (also her parents) children: Charles, b. abt 1863, Wisconsin William, b. abt. 1865, Wisconsin Della/Adella, b. abt 1868, WI; m. David F. Smith, 1887 NE Ernst H., b. abt 1871, WI John H., b. abt. 1874, WI Guy E., b. abt. 1876, WI (my friend's ancestor) Amos E., b. abt. 1882, Nebraska Civil War Service Records: 25 and 12 Wisconsin Infantry Residences: abt. 1838, Canada 1864, Durand, Wisconsin 1870, Durand, Wisconsin 1883, Blue Mills on the Wood River north of Kearney, NB 1885, Ruerdale, Buffalo, Nebraska 1890, Kearney, Buffalo, Nebraska 1920, Long Beach, California Any help in connecting Sylvester to the rest of the clan, would be thoroughly appreceated! My thanks in advance for any help, Lynn Girardeau Seattle Notify Administrator about this message?
