Please join the BIERCE-L-subscribe@rootsweb.com . You will be able to find out a lot about the BEARSE/BEARCE/BIERCE/BURCE/BARSS/family (and numerous other spellings of the family name). If you've ever heard of Ambrose BIERCE, a famous writer after the civil war, you will find that he was a son of Marcus Aurelious BIERCE, and descended from Augustine BEARSE just like the rest of us. It's a great list with everyone willing to share info.
