There are several Redman/Redmund/Redden/Redmon Smith's of various spellings, in the area.
Other than the census, I have found no real data, other than a marriage in Fulton Co, GA:
Name: Redman Smith
Spouse: Nancy Bearfield
Marriage Date: 27 Jan 1840
County: Fulton
State: Georgia
The date is right for their first daughter Jane to be born abt 1841, and the censuses all say Nancy was born in Georgia.
The Smith Genforum people say Redman Smith married Nancy Brown, and the LDS info says her father was Fanning Brown, and the 1880 census says her mother was born in Ireland.
Has anyone either heard of Nancy Bearfield, OR do you know if Bearfield could have been changed to Brown?
