I want to let everybody know about the Bär Dna project. <http://www.geocities.com/bear_dna_project/baryallelesft2.html> In my own Barr genealogy we only use the spelling Barr as far back as the 1750's in Frederick Co. Va. With the Dna project I have 3 matches.
1. An Adam Barr/Bare that was b: 1761 in Pa. married 1785 in Frederick Co. Va. and d: 1857 Ky. 2. A Beer surname b: Switzerland in the 1700's.
3. A Ludwig Bare b: 1750's Pa. Ludwigs line also uses the surnames Beer and Bahr.
So make sure you checkout the other spellings in your research. russ
