Carol, my husband is a great grandson of Ada Hurd Andrews Bearce/Burse and the family records are as stated by Herb. A question I have for you: my husbands aunt says that when the Silas Bearse family moved to Wisconsin their daughter Dorcas was estranged, for some reason. She was only about 17 and had moved away from home and they didn't know where she went. It is assumed she stayed in Maine, and perhaps did not know where her family had moved to! Have you come across any record of Dorcas Burse? She may have run away to be married.
