I wanted to tell the descendants of Austin Bearse that his house is for sale in Centerville. It is on the National Historic Register. It has one part that is 1600's and an addition built in the 1800's. For an old house it is not in bad shape, I was surprised at how good it looked. There is a cottage and a barn on the property. The old part appears to have been built with some ship parts. The wood floors have boards that are at least 1 foot in width and it has stained boards for walls in the old part of the house. There are 5 fireplaces and two are of the old fashioned cooking style that are about 6 feet wide. The asking price is $395,000. They said the sellers would go down a bit. The woman who owns it is in a nursing home and the family has to sell it. There is a real estate boom here on Cape Cod right now. It is about 1 mile from the beach and in scenic Centerville village. Just thought someone might be interested. I have the stats on it if anyone is interested and my husband and I went through it today.
