There is another John BEARCE that some have not mentioned: He served during the Revolutionary War under Benedict Arnold and was involved in the campain against Quebec; This is where my story starts, and can find no record of.

Apperently John Bearce met an indian woman on his way back from Canada and had a daughter, Lucretia. She was born in or around Industry, Maine, where she met and married Elisha DREW, my ggg grandfather. So another indian legend is born!

The only "fact" that supports this story is a letter she wrote to my mother's sister in 1923; I have found a Lucretia BEARCE, but she was the daughter of Holmes Bearce and Lydia GIVENS; Hardly an indian name.

So, if anyone by some bizzare circumstance has a record of this, please contact me.

Don.
