My great great Gandfather was Orin S. Bearce.
And information I have is that he came from Maine. My mother has some letters. ANd there was contact with Brewster and Alden relatives. I was aware of the graves in Halifax. Orin left the farm near Auburn Maine on a medicine wagon. Became a pharmicist and self
trained vet. Bred and raised fine horses.Continued to import horses from his brother in Maine. Ended up in Illinois. ON their way to go into business with a brother further on west, got off the train in Macon, Missouri when his wife became ill.
His daughter Emma Jane Bearce married my great grandfather John Patton. From that union there were five children. Two boys and a girl died of flu. My grandmother Hallie Patton Miller and my great aunt Mable Patton Sebelien.
My mother Helen Elizabeth Billings. She was born in 1912, will be 88 in July. Lives in Los Angeles .
I will try and be more precise but I think there is a connection here. Bearce is not a large family. Cordially, Tom Billings
