Was first aquainted with John in Union County TNBoth his parents lived there as well.John and his parents always claimed to be part Indian.

John Bear born 1834 and raised in Jefferson County TN.
Parents were born in NCThey left NC long before John Was born.about 80 years ago and went to Jefferson county and lived there untill they died.They died in 1888 and 1889
he was neber on any rolls.Doesnt think parents were either.Neith of parents were held in slavery.None of siblings were held in Slavery.Non of bro or sis were enrolled.Never lived among the indians as a member of the tribe.Parents lived among the Indians in NC.Think they did after they came to TN to.My mother talked IndianPalina Bear 1 of my sisters have made application.She married a man named Jones.My parents lived in Grainger county tN.They were there in 1851.Dont know why they were not enrolled at the time.My wife is 3/4 Cherokee.I dont associate with the colored people.My brothers married white WomenMy wifes father was Richard HarrisonMy wife has not made application she was never on any roll and never was her parents
