Date: 1867-05-18; Paper: Boston Journal POSSIBLE MURDER IN OSSIPPEE,NEW HAMPSHIRE. On Tuesday night last a stabbing affray occurred in the town of Ossippee,N.H., which is likely to prove fatal to one of the parties. The parties were John F. Bean and Samuel F. Lewis. It appears that Bean was married to Lewis' sister, and that, owing to some family difficulty between the two, the woman had returned to her father's house and had been there some time when this affair occurred. On the night in question, Bean called there and endeavored to get his wife to go home with him. On her refusal, Bean became quarrelsome and noisy, and was ejected from the house by Lewis, his wife's brother. A scuffle ensued, during which Lewis received a severe cut from a shoe knife in the right side, the blade being ( 7) seven inches in length, and penetrating the lung. Lewis is not expected to recover, and Bean has been arrested to await the results of the injuries he inflicted. Notify Administrator about this message?
