Hello, Mr. Parr

My name is Kellie Wilson. I am in process of researching my family tree. The surname- Beamon- is apart of my family tree. I have no real oral history concerning this part of my family only the my ggggrandfather came from Virginia. I spoke with a Kevin Beamon and he told me that you have an extensive collection on the Beamon family tree. I also need to mention that I am not white, but as you know many of the surnames that African Americans have were indeed borrowed from whites. Although my ggggrandfather was not African American, he was Native American and sold as an indian slave to Louisiana during the early to mid 1800's. My family did not become black until the late 1800's. Mr. Parr, I know the information am giving you is very little and not much to go by, but if possible could you give me a few answers. When did the first Beamon's originate? Where there any Beamon's in Virginia during this time period, if so who? My ggggrandfather's name was Hughes Beamon, it is believed that he was named after a relative or maybe even his father. I hope that you respond to my email.

Thank you,
Kellie Wilson
