Calvin Leander Beamon and Lillian Hayes lived in North Wilkesboro, NC (Reedy's river area). They left in 1904 when they lost their property. At that time they moved to Lexington, NC. Calvin Leander's father was George Charles Beamon. Lillian's grandfather was George Washington Hayes. George Washington Hayes was a local hero and was married to a Grant. He was a union supporter in the South and sold the union paper and union liquior during the Civil War. There is more info. in the North Wilkesboro genealogy library.
