Beamish Family Genealogy Forum

A BEAMISH family from somewhere in Ontario (probably London area) migrated to Genesee/Shiawassee Counties (not that far from Midland) in Michigan with four other families (DANN, ANDERSON, WOODS, PORTERFIELD) from the London, Ontario area in early 1870s. They crossed from Sarnia to Port Huron by sleigh, ran out of snow in Imlay City, traded their sleighs for wagons and headed westward.
Two brothers in this family married MOORE sisters, whose family migrated at about the same time: John BEAMISH m. Louise MOORE, and Ed BEAMISH m. Anna MOORE. Ed BEAMISH was naturalized 21 Oct 1882 in Shiawassee Co.; John BEAMISH was naturalized 22 Apr 1892, also in Shiawassee Co. Both were living in Hazelton (now New Lothrop), Shiawassee Co., in 1889.
One current BEAMISH entry in my database married in 1959 in London, Ontario. I have more information on this family. These BEAMISH families tie into my DANN and ANDERSON families, both in Michigan and Ontario.
I don't know if this information ties in with yours, but thought it might provide a clue for you.
