I know your post is 5 years old, but in case you are still out there, I too have Beamishes in Toronto in the 1850s. My gg grandmother was also a Mary Ann Beamish (born 1853), daughter of George Beamish and Mary Swanton. Most of these Toronto Beamishes seem to be from the same family. Want to compare notes?
